Corfu Airport

Located just 3 kilometres south of the Old Town, Ioannis Kapodistrias International Airport (CFU) is Corfu’s main airport and serves the entire Ionian Islands archipelago.

Named after Kapodistrias, Greece’s first Head of State and a Corfu native born in 1776, the airport offers both domestic flights with Olympic Airlines and Aegean Airlines, as well as international connections. It’s particularly busy during the summer months, thanks to the numerous charter flights that operate to and from the island.

Most charter traffic occurs on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays, coinciding with the start and end of weekly holiday packages in apartments and hotel rooms.

The arrival experience is particularly memorable: as you come in to land, you’ll enjoy spectacular views of Pontikonissi island – nicknamed Mouse Island for its distinctive shape – and the beautiful Vlaherna Monastery.

Getting into the city centre

If you pick up a car hire at Corfu airport, the terminal sits right on Route 25, which takes you directly into Corfu Town (Kerkyra).

To reach the city centre by public transport, catch buses N5 or N6 from just outside the airport. The journey takes just 10 minutes.

Alternatively, you’ll find taxis waiting outside the arrivals terminal to take you to your destination.

Private transfer

An alternative to TAXIs is to book in advance a private transfer to or from Corfù airport. A driver will pick you up at the airport arrivals (thus avoiding taxi queues), at your hotel or wherever you prefer, to take you to the desired address.
