The stunning Liapades beach sits on Corfu’s north-western coast, roughly 20 kilometres from the main town. Relatively untouched by mass tourism, this sandy beach dotted with white pebbles, stretching just 100 metres, is nestled among lush greenery with emerald waters lying 800 metres from the centre of the village that shares its name.
You’ll find all the creature comforts here – sunbed and parasol rentals, water sports, tavernas and cafés, plus a water taxi service – yet Liapades retains the authentic character of traditional Greek villages.
The typical Ionian island architecture defines the village, from which numerous trails and paths lead to 15 secluded small beaches, mostly pebbly and wonderfully quiet.
If you’re in the area, we’d recommend visiting the Church of Saint Anastasia, built in 1600 and today beautifully restored to its former glory.
