EU citizens don’t need any special documents to travel to Greece. Greece is two hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time, which is one hour ahead of Central European Time. Shops in many parts of Greece typically close between 14:30 and 17:30, and Corfu is no exception, though businesses catering mainly to tourists often stay open throughout the day.

Regarding electricity, Greece uses two-pin sockets, so bringing an adapter is recommended.

In Corfu Town, the state hospital Santa Irini provides free emergency services with a valid health insurance card. There are also numerous private clinics with specialists who speak multiple languages, as well as medical offices and pharmacies throughout the island’s main tourist areas.

Some roads on Corfu lead to remote locations and are not always in perfect condition—watch out for potholes, though overall the road standard is good. Be aware that Greek drivers can be adventurous: indicators are rarely used, but the horn is put to frequent use!
